My reason to run
Friday 12th NovNow I only have two grandparents left, and it's proving how much time is really important. We got lucky with my Grandad because his dancing club had a defib. I wasn't so lucky with my other grandparents, but the defib bought more time. He's been able to go fishing with my Dad, dance like nobody's watching, and always with that cheeky grin on his face (especially when he's let one rip).
And 2020 taught me that family is crucial, especially with shielding my Dad, who also has high blood pressure like my Grandad. I can't imagine losing him. I've never been so afraid as I was in those first few months of covid...
So I'm going to run the London Marathon.
Run so I can protect those I love, buy us more time and make the seconds count.
